Let’s Talk About the Little Details
You’ve spent months choosing every little detail for your wedding day, so let’s make sure they’re remembered! Your flat lay is a collection of all those meaningful pieces that helped bring your vision to life. From your invitations to your rings and everything in between, these photos become some of the sweetest keepsakes in your gallery. They tell the beginning of your wedding story before you’ve even stepped into your dress!

Your Invitation Suite
One of the biggest pieces of your flat lay is your invitation suite. If you can, ask your stationer for an extra copy of everything! This might include your invitation, RSVP card, envelopes, save the date, menus, place cards, or wax seals. All of these pieces add beautiful layers and texture to your photos while showing off the little design choices you worked so hard to pick out.

Gather the Details That Feel Like You
This is where your personality gets to shine! I recommend setting aside your rings, shoes, jewelry, veil, perfume, vow books, cufflinks, tie, watch, and any heirlooms or sentimental keepsakes you’d love to remember. Whether it’s your grandmother’s earrings, a handwritten letter, or a special charm on your bouquet, these little touches help tell your story in such a meaningful way.
Don’t Forget the Florals!
Flowers truly bring everything together. I always love styling flat lays with a few loose blooms, greenery, or extra petals from your florist because they add so much color and life to your photos. They help tie all of your wedding details together and make everything feel cohesive with the rest of your day. It’s amazing how a few extra stems can make such a big difference!

A Little Prep Goes a Long Way
Before the wedding day, gather all of your detail items into one small box or bag so they’re easy to hand over when I arrive. While you’re relaxing with your favorite people, getting your hair and makeup done, I’ll be creating beautiful images of all the details you’ve spent months dreaming up. It’s one of the easiest ways to start your gallery with gorgeous, intentional photos, and I promise you’ll be so glad you took a few minutes to prepare them ahead of time.
